Normal General Nazgrim Guide

Transcript:
Hey guys I’m Mezzy. And welcome to the guide for General Nazgrim, the 8th boss in the Siege of Orgrimmar Raid. The general works with rage like a warrior and every 15 seconds he will use a rage ability. He will use the highest costing ability he has rage for. More about this later on.

The general has 3 stances. Battle stance in which he generates 1 rage per second. Berserker stance in which he deals and takes 25% more damage as well as gains double the amount of rage from his abilities. When he goes into berserker stance you should use heroism. And he also has Defensive stance in which his damage taken is reduced by 10%, he gains 3 rage per attack taken and he does not gain additional rage from sundering blow. To prevent him gaining massive amounts of rage, whenever he is in defensive stance noone should attack him except for the tank with the sundering blow debuff.

The general has 2 abilities that do not cost rage. The first is Sundering blow which does damage, and gives a stacking debuff reducing armor by 10% and it generates 5 rage + 5 additional rage for every sundering blow stack on the tank. This requires a tank switch at 3-4 stacks.

His second ability is called Bonecracker which puts a 30 second dot on a random raider and reduces their maximum health by 10%.

So every 15 seconds he uses a rage ability and he uses the highest costing ability he can afford. He can choose from the following abilities:
Heroic shockwave, which costs 30 rage and makes him jump to a target, after which 3 flame lines will appear and after a few seconds explode. For every raider he hits he gains 3 rage. So move away from these lines.
Kor’kron banner, which costs 50 rage and gives adds a buff which causes every attack an add does to generate 3 rage for nazgrim. Kill this as soon as it spawns.
War Song, which costs 70 rage and is a simple AoE that hits everyon for 50% of their maximum health.
Ravager, which costs 100 rage. He throws an axe that will move around and do damage to anyone it hits. Everytime it hits someone nazgrim gains 5 rage. This axe will continue to move around for the rest of the fight.

These are all abilities that you can deal with. To add some annoyances to the fight Nazgrim summons adds every 45 seconds. These are 2 out of 4 possible adds. If they were not summoned last time then the next time you will face the other 2 adds. So let’s go through them in the order of importance to kill.

The first and most important add you have to nuke down is the Warshaman. There are 4 things you need to do with these. Interrupt their heals. Instantly destroy their healing tide totems. Dispell earth shields and most importantly of all keep them away as far as possible from nazgrim. The totem does 30% of max health every 3 seconds to anyone within 35 yards range of it. Meaning if it gets a tick off and the boss is too close you messed up badly. As we did in this video you can keep nazgrim where he stands and have the nontanking tank keep the warshaman in the back where the adds spawn.

The second most important add is the Arcweavers. These casts spells that need to be interrupted. Arcane shock is allowed to get through but what you must 100% always interrupt is the aoe spell Magistrike.

The third add type is an Assassin, these will mark someone and if they can get to their back they will hurt them badly. If you get marked just face them directly. Hunter flares supposedly help if an assassin goes into stealth.

The last add type is the ironblade. These are warriors who spin around so melee keep away from them. At 50% health they use last stand which increases their health and is unavoidable. So they really just have more health than they appear to have.

If you can deal with the adds and the bosses’s abilities properly then you should have no issues with killing the general. Just keep in mind to kill the banners and totems as soon as they spawn and to not dps the general when he’s in defensive stance.
