WoW Hotfixes – Updated February 25, Patterns within Patterns Changes, Hunter Tier Set Fixes

Last night’s hotfixes bring changes to trinkets, fix some broken things and put in place changes to the Patterns within Patterns quest to make it become a weekly quest instead of a quest that resets every 3 days. Additionally there was also a hotfix that was not mentioned in the notes, causing Zereth Mortis rares you have killed to no longer appear as a rare! Check out all details below.

WoW Hotfixes – Updated February 25

FEBRUARY 25, 2022

Classes

  • Druid
    • Fixed an issue where Ravenous Frenzy (Venthyr Ability) was not always correctly adding stacks.
  • Warrior
    • Arms
      • Fixed an issue with Warbreaker (Talent) not always properly applying the Colossus Smash effect to enemies.

Creatures and NPCs

  • Fixed an issue where Gluttonous Overgrowth’s Leaf Storm increased player’s movement speed instead of reducing it.

Items and Rewards

  • Instructor’s Divine Bell now always provides its Mastery over 15 seconds (was 9 seconds).
    • Developers’ note: This fixes an issue where existing versions of this trinket used a different duration than new versions.
  • With next week’s scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, several Shadowlands dungeon trinkets will be adjusted:
    • Soulletting Ruby critical strike rating granted reduced by 15%.
      • Developers note: Phial of Putrefaction, Soulletting Ruby, and Blood-Spattered Scale were part of a trifectra of dungeon trinkets that were overbudgeted enough that each new tier of item level scaling ensured they’d be among the best, if not the best trinket for classes that used them without question. Our intention here isn’t to kill their viability, but give more wiggle room for situational competitors and introduce some more variance into player’s gearing choices across Eternity’s End.
    • Bladedancer’s Armor Kit armor and damage increased by 25%.
      • Developers’ note: Bladedancer’s Armor Kit wasn’t providing the defensive value it promised tanks even in situations you’d expect it to be good, so we’re taking a crack at it alongside Pulsating Stoneheart to try and make it less of a negative experience when these 2 drop for you, and more into a place where you’d consider them depending on your situation and class.
    • Pulsating Stoneheart armor, health regeneration, and self-slow duration reduced to 6 seconds (was 12 seconds).
    • Pulsating Stoneheart armor increased by 35%, and health regeneration lowered slightly per-tick, but now ticks On-Use for a total of 7 (was 6) over the duration.
      • Developers’ note – Pulsating Stoneheart wasn’t appropriately tuned against the large downside of snaring oneself for a long period of time, so we’ve compressed the effect to mitigate the downside and make it a much stronger burst of defensive value in situations where you need it.
    • Fixed an issue where the Haste granted from First Class Healing Distributor was scaling incorrectly with item level.

Quests

  • With next week’s scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, the 3-day quest “Patterns Within Patterns” will become a Weekly Quest, and both its completion requirements and rewards will be increased to provide the same pace of progression.
    • Developers’ note: We feel that a full week duration, along with commensurate amounts of Cosmic Flux and other rewards, better suits this quest. We hope this change alleviates the concern some players had over completing it multiple times a week.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Cache of Creation world quests to not be completed after opening the cache.
  • In the “Battle for Highmountain” scenario, killing Fel Champion Gargath quickly should no longer prevent the scenario from progressing.

Thank you for all the feedback on the “Patterns Within Patterns” quest. We also agree that the 3-day timer doesn’t offer enough flexibility to complete its requirements multiple times a week.

Unannounced Hotfix – Previously killed Rares no longer Rare

When popping into Zereth Mortis before this morning’s reset I noticed that the rares I had killed in the last 24 hours no longer show up as rares. However when killing one it did still drop the same loot you got on your second kill, namely anima and a few cyphers.

Hunter Tier Set Fixes

After things have been dead quiet for the hunter tier set during the PTR cycle up until the last week of the PTR, Blizzard has reacted to more of the bug reports as well as some of the unhappiness surrounding the Beast Mastery tier bonuses.

Quote from: Blizzard

Hunters,

There was a discussion thread on the PTR forums regarding many issues with your set bonus and interactions with your class abilities. We wanted to continue that discussion here, and update where things are with regards to the upcoming tier sets and their bonuses:

Survival

  • Corrected an issue where a Mad Bombardier buff that refreshed an existing Mad Bombardier buff caused your next Wildfire Bomb to do less damage than intended
  • Corrected an issue where Wildfire Bomb with Guerilla Tactics talented would incorrectly restore multiple charges of Mad Bombardier if your Wildfire Bomb hit multiple targets.
  • Still investigating problems with Wildfire Bomb not working with Multiple Survival hunters at the same time. (This isn’t related to tier sets, but re-listing so you know it isn’t forgotten)

Marksmanship
There are a lot of intertwined interactions between Aimed Shot, Trick Shots, Double Tap, Lock and Load, and the upcoming tier set bonus which grants even more Trick Shots. We want this all to work together as you would expect it to, and have fixes in testing for what we believe is all of the issues that had been listed on the PTR forums.

  • Corrected an issue where if you have Unblinking Vigil, but not Trick Shots, and gain Trick shots from an Aimed Shot cast, you would not benefit from Trick Shots, and Trick Shots would be consumed.
  • Corrected an issue where if you have Unblinking Vigil, and gain Trick Shots from Aimed Shot, which grants another Unblinking Vigil buff, both Unblinking Vigil buffs would be consumed by a single Aimed Shot.
  • Corrected issues with Double Tap’s damage and the Set Bonus damage increase for Trick Shots.
  • NOTE: After several of the above changes, you can sometimes get into a lucky streak of Aimed Shot->Unblinking Vigil Proc->Aimed Shot->repeat… The threshold of Focus expenditure to gain a Trick Shots buff from the 4-piece bonus might be adjusted upwards a bit due to this, and we’re evaluating things and will be sure to post about any changes being made.

Beast Mastery
We have read your posts outlining some issues you have with your upcoming Set Bonuses with regards to AoE damage. We don’t have any specific details to share in this post of what is going to change, but are currently planning on adjusting your 4-piece Set Bonus before it becomes available in the upcoming weeks. When we have more finalized details, we’ll be sure to let you know.
