Hotfixes: November 11 2022, Time is Running Out on the Winds of Wisdom 50% Experience Buff!

Last night was a slow news type of night for WoW. Dark Pact was nerfed for warlocks, a quest was hotfixed and Blizzard put out a reminder that the Winds of Wisdom buff is going away with the weekly reset when patch 10.0.2. launches.

November 11, 2022

Quote from: Blizzard

If you’re just returning after a hiatus from World of Warcraft, leveling another character (or two), or preparing to get ready for the Dragonflight expansion then this is the perfect time to jump into the game. Beginning the week of October 4 with each region’s local weekly reset, all World of Warcraft* players level 10-59 will gain the experience buff called “Winds of Wisdom,” which will increase experience gains by 50%!

Don’t delay. The winds will shift once more when the new dracthyr Evoker becomes playable during the Dragonflight pre-expansion patch on November 15, and the experience buff will no longer be available.

* Experience boost not available in World of Warcraft Classic titles.

Dragonflight Zone Previews: The Azure Span & Thaldraszus

Quote from: Blizzard
Forbidden Reach
The Azure Span

Journey into the Azure Span, an ancient frost-touched land, where you’ll aid Kalecgos as he ventures into the Azure Archives on a mission to reclaim the Azure Oathstone.

When you first arrive in the Azure Span, you’ll be greeted with snowy peaks, mist-covered forests, and icy tundra. The Azure Span stretches from coastal tuskarr villages through sprawling forest tundra to looming spires of ice and snow. Regal blue dragons once roamed these lands, but with the passage of time, several tribes of tuskarr, gnolls, and furbolg now call these ancient lands their home.

Traverse the icy tundra of the Azure Span with the new zone track, “Explore” by David Arkenstone.

Cold Comfort

A picture of a small village covered in snow at the edge of a river with a frozen waterfall in the background

The Azure Span is one of the largest zones created in World of Warcraft to date and offers the greatest visual elevation change players will see in the Dragon Isles.

A picture of a road in a forest of trees with a crumbling tower

Much of the inspiration for this zone comes from one of our favorites in Wrath of the Lich King, Grizzly Hills, along with the California Bay area’s coastal fogs and redwoods. Though, there’s more than just redwoods to be found throughout Azure Span, as you’ll learn when you trek through this diverse wilderness. Much of the zone is filled with varied biomes covered in snow and ice, giant frozen waterfalls, ice rivers, and forests shrouded in mist that beckon eager heroes hungry for adventure.

Adventure Lies Ahead in the Dungeons of the Azure Span

Brackenhide Hollow

Brackenhide Hollow is the largest gnoll settlement in the Dragon Isles, and home tounspeakable danger. Decay seeps from the Hollow, spreading among the gnoll tribes of the Azure Span and threatening to rot away all life. In the heart of the Hollow lies the leader of the Brackenhide, and the knowledge she gleefully shares with her withered kin.

  • Hackclaw’s War-Band: Rira Hackclaw and her compatriots, Gashtooth and Tricktotem have risen up as a deadly warband among the Brackenhide. Their tactics are the reason tuskarr never travel alone, and their strength is the reason Wratheye has them guarding the gate to the Hollow.
  • Treemouth: Withered by decay, this once proud ancient has been dubbed Treemouth by the gnolls. As the rot settled into its branches, so too did it settle in the poor creature’s mind, leaving a creature bent on nothing more than the need to feed and spread decay.
  • Gutshot: This sharpshooting gnoll has mastered the art of hunting, trapping, and killing her prey. Impressed by her abilities and cunning, the Decatriarch has assigned Gutshot to oversee and train the other hunters…and take out any interlopers that might venture too far into Brackenhide.
  • Decatriarch Wratheye: Wratheye discovered decay magic in her thirst for power, and declared herself the Decatriarch after mastering it. She now builds the strength of the Brackenhide by spreading her dark magic among her tribe so the tuskarr, and all of the Azure Span, will rot in its wake.

The Azure Vault

Long ago, Malygos created the Azure Vault as a place for Sindragosa to catalogue and store away curious magical artifacts he found. Locked away and deserted millenia ago, the Vault has since fallen into disrepair, leaving it vulnerable to attacks from without… and within.

  • Leymor: Leymor was born of a humble seedling that Malygos found in a pool of ley energy. Once but a small sprout in Sindragosa’s garden, over millenia Leymor has shot up like a weed. Left to its own devices, the looming giant would surely overrun the entirety of the Azure Vault.
  • Azureblade: As security for the Vault, Azureblade refused to leave when it was sealed, choosing duty over safety. When the blue dragons failed to return, her bitter resignation drove her to eventual madness. Extending her own life with the magics she was sworn to protect, Azureblade now claims ownership over all the blue dragonflight left behind.
  • Telash Greywing: Furious at the blue dragonflight, Telash Greywing is determined to find the secrets that Sindragosa has been hiding in the Arcane Vault. Together with the Sundered Flame, he is certain he will discover more about the origins of the dracthyr… and incriminating evidence against the blue dragonflight.
  • Umbrelskul: Millenia ago, Umbrelskul unwittingly meddled with raw arcane power. Riddled with crystalline growths, he was taken to the Azure Vault until a cure could be found. Sadly, the Vault was sealed away before the research was completed, leaving Umbrelskul sleeping in stasis… until now.

Azure Span’s Denizens

As you progress on your adventures, you’ll encounter many inhabitants of this snow-touched biome who have made the icy peaks, forests, and shores their homes. Here are some that you’ll meet on your journey.

Tuskarr

A picture of a tuskarr villagers standing in a village on an icy shore

Like their Northrend relatives, the tuskarr of the Dragon Isles are fishers and traders and have inhabited the land since the days when blue dragons roamed the Azure Span. Their tribes can be found throughout as they aid Kalecgos.

Blue Dragons

A picture of a large blue dragon with snow and trees

The Dragon Isles have been rejuvenated, but many blue dragons are still scattered across Azeroth. Kalecgos will need all the help he can get to reunite them—and an unexpected source appears to offer that aid.

Gnolls

A picture of several gnolls around a campfire in a forest

A savage clan of shamanistic gnolls that have harnessed the power of decay, darkening their wetland home with vile pockets of thorns and roots. They are a force to be reckoned with.

Furbolg

A picture of a furbolg in a forest

The forest-dwelling furbolg are dealing with conflicts that have splintered their clans. Many have been lured with the promise of being able to bend the elements to their will.

See you in the Dragon Isles!

Quote from: Blizzard
Thaldraszus
Thaldraszus

Thaldraszus, a wonderous mountain region in the Dragon Isles, is the cradle of dragon civilization. From formidable structures to complex waterways, titan and dragon influence can be found throughout its diverse biomes.

The sense of history in this region is palpable, and it feels alive with the spark of possibility.

Let the new zone music track by Jake Lefkowitz guide you through Thaldraszus, the ancient cradle of dragon civilization.

Mysteries of the Past Await

The bronze dragons used the Temporal Conflux as a seat of power. Its vast libraries of knowledge contain the secrets of the timeways, as well as the Bronze Oathstone that symbolizes their calling to protect all time.

While titan-forged spaces bear distinctive architecture, the places established by the dragons reflect the most cultured aspects of dragon society. The dragons built vast structures, the most glorious of which was Valdrakken. From the top of this grand city, the Aspects passed laws and directed their protection of Azeroth.

Also nestled in the heart of Thaldraszus is Tyrhold, home to the Halls of Infusion. A mysterious place that has been locked away for millennia and holds the secrets that Tyr left behind.

Adventure Lies Ahead in the Dungeons of Thaldraszus

Whether you’re looking for loot, a new challenge, or to learn more about this ancient land, you’ll need to gather your courage— and your allies— for the trials ahead.

Halls of Infusion

Deep beneath Tyrhold lies the Halls of Infusion. Its structure was built upon an ancient wellspring, the waters of which were channeled by Keeper Tyr to feed the Life Pools of the red flight. Now that the Dragon Isles have reawakened, Primalist forces have invaded these halls. Have they come to destroy the facility…or to reveal secrets that Tyr left behind?

  • Watcher Irideus: Tasked by Tyr to protect and maintain the Halls of Infusion, Watcher Irideus has performed his duties to perfection…until now. Caught off guard by the Primalists’ incursion, he was overwhelmed by the elemental forces they unleashed. A mistake he does not intend to make again.
  • Gulping Goliath: Deep within the caverns of the halls of Infusion lurks the Gulping Goliath. Sire to countless generations of hornswogs, the Goliath and his brood have thrived upon the unprocessed waters of the wellspring. Driven by an insatiable hunger, he will eagerly devour any creature that strays too close to his lair.
  • Khajin the Unyielding: Khajin the Unyielding seethes with hatred for Keeper Tyr for tampering with the ancient wellspring beneath Tyrhold. Waters that once flowed with the eternal essence of Azeroth have been polluted by Order magic. Khajin would see the world freed from the malignant legacy of the titans…at any cost.
  • Primal Tsunami: Infuser Sariya is driven to restore the world to what it once was: a primal elemental landscape of unfettered power. She has used all her will and cunning to summon the Primal Tsunami, an elemental being mighty enough to topple Keeper Tyr’s facility and return the waters of the wellspring to their natural state.

Algeth’ar Academy

Long ago, the great Algeth’ar Academy was a place of higher learning for all dragons. Though it fell dormant with the rest of the Isles, it has reopened and is back under the guidance of Headteacher Doragosa. In a series of exciting, new changes, the Academy is currently seeking new students from all walks of life, not just dragons, as well as volunteers, to help get it back to the bustling halls of education it once was. Those who walk the Academy grounds are sure to learn something new.

  • Vexamus: As one of the most tenured professors in the academy, Maxdormu uses his powers as a bronze dragon to help bring his history lessons to life.
While this proves to be quite an educational and fun experience, it can occasionally go awry. Vexamus is one of Professor Maxdormu’s favorite lessons, but if any historical detail is inaccurate, he will be quick to scold any rowdy students.
  • Overgrown Ancient: Professors Mystakria and Ichistrasz have used just a touch too much magic in an effort to clear the botany labs. Now they have a big, leafy problem on their hands in the form of an Overgrown Ancient that threatens to undo all their hard work.
  • Crawth: The Lish Lirath, or Talon Toss, arena is quite literally for the birds these days. Crawth has taken up residence in the center of the arena and has no immediate plans to move out soon. Let’s see if we can get her to play ball…and leave.
  • Echo of Headteacher Doragosa: Headteacher Doragosa thought of everything when it came to Algeth’ar Academy. Including a complex simulacrum of herself to take care of any day-to-day tasks and upkeep while the isles lay dormant. Now that the Academy is open once again, perhaps she can use it to help keep track of all the new students. It’s done a fine job in the interim and is absolutely the one spell that did not degrade after all these years. Perfectly stable and helpful. Right?

Dampening / Healing Changes in Arenas Coming in Dragonflight Pre-Expansion Phase 2

Quote from: Blizzard

Recently, some changes were made in the Dragonflight beta which increased player health by 40% at level 70. We have been evaluating what effect this would have on the power of healing in PvP and we wanted to provide an update for that.

In internal playtests, we have seen the healing has been too powerful in PvP scenarios. Alongside the above player health change, we saw that talent trees have a lot of disparity of power that some abilities have in PvE vs PvP, such as Overgrowth for Restoration druids.

With that context, we discussed several options for tuning healing, including using PvP multipliers on an enormous number of abilities, but we felt that adjusting via a flat value would be the easiest to understand from a player point of view due to its consistency and would also target personal survivability abilities at the same time. This would also give us the option to address outlier abilities with PvP multipliers.

For instanced Arena, matches will now start at a flat 10% decreased healing above what they were in each mode. Along with this, the Dampening timer (when dampening starts to increase) now starts earlier in 3v3 Arena matches to reduce the game length in match ups where there may be a stalemate without the added pressure of higher Dampening. What this means is the following:

• Solo Shuffle – Start at 10% Dampening and after 1 minute, ramp up at a pace of 25% per minute
• 2v2 (double DPS) – Start at 10% Dampening and immediately ramp up at a pace of 6% per minute
• 2v2 (with a healer) – Start at 30% Dampening (up from 20%) and immediately ramp up at a pace of 6% per minute
• 3v3 – Start at 10% Dampening and after 3 minutes (down from 5 minutes), ramp up at a pace of 6% per minute

Additionally, we have changed the Dampening debuff to show the number of stacks on the debuff itself to improve visibility.

We will continue to monitor PvP pacing in various content to evaluate any further adjustments we should make either with Dampening or the PvP trinket set bonus.

We’ll see you in the Arena!

QUESTS

  • Removed the ability for players who have not started Threads of Fate to access the system.
    • Developers’ note: The goal with Threads of Fate was to help alleviate the linear path of Shadowlands for alts as it was the only way for players to level from 50 to 60. Now that Shadowlands has been moved into Chromie time and Chromie Time’s level cap has been increased to 60, players have a multitude of methods to reach level 60. Players currently in Threads of fate can continue through it, but the option will not be available for any new characters.
We do not have plans to do similar removals with Dragonflight’s Adventure Mode in future expansions. Threads of Fate is a choice to use in Shadowlands and irreversibly changes a player’s character once it is chosen. It previously created two different experiences of Shadowlands, which would double to four with both of the level up and Threads of Fate being accessible within Chromie time. Adventure Mode in Dragonflight  is an overlay to the level up experience and is always on once it is earned regardless of decisions the player makes.

USER INTERFACE AND ACCESSIBILITY

  • Silver dragon portrait border added back for rare elite mobs.
  • The Dungeon Journal now indicates if a loot drop is very rare.
  • Profession Trainers added back to the minimap filters.
  • Group management frame has been fixed to appear for all group types.
  • Names added back to the Trading pane.
  • The backpack can no longer be assigned to a sorting category. This is a temporary change to resolve a bug, and we expect to bring it back in the future.
  • AddOn API: Button highlight textures can be cleared.
  • NEW MACRO CONDITIONAL: KNOWN
    • Use [known:] to check for a talent’s learned status. Works with names and spell IDs. Works with #showtooltip. Use [noknown:] to reverse the logic.
    • Example:
      • #showtooltip
/cast [known:Execution Sentence] Execution Sentence; [known:384052] Wake of Ashes; Templar’s Verdict
        #showtooltip [known:265187] Summon Demonic Tyrant; [known:Guillotine] Guillotine
  • TALENTS PANEL
    • History nodes are more obviously marked.
    • Mousing over an active talent highlights where it is on your action bar.
    • PvP talents now show an error if a prerequisite talent is not active.
    • Arrowheads and lines are smaller to reduce visual clutter.
    • Several script and slash commands have been added for accessibility and general use:
      • Activate loadout by name:
        • /run ClassTalentHelper.SwitchToLoadoutByName(loadoutName)
        • /loadoutname loadoutname
        • /lon loadoutname
      • Activate loadout by dropdown list order, starting with 1:
        • /run ClassTalentHelper.SwitchToLoadoutByIndex(1)
        • /loadoutindex 2
        • /loi 3
      • Activate specialization by name:
        • /run ClassTalentHelper.SwitchToSpecializationByName(specName)
        • /specname specname
        • /spn specname
      • Activate specialization by order within the Specializations tab, starting with 1:
        • /run ClassTalentHelper.SwitchToSpecializationByIndex(1)
        • /specindex 2
        • /spi 3

Beta Mythic+ Testing – 10-14 November

Quote from: Blizzard

Greetings!

Dragonflight Mythic+ testing will once again be available on Beta this weekend. The test period will begin Thursday November 10th at 10:00 PDT (13:00 EDT, 20:00 CEST), and end Monday November 14th at 10:00 PDT (13:00 EDT, 20:00 CEST). Please note that the test period may be adjusted in the event of technical difficulties.

This weekend mainly features a lot of tuning, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements. We’d particularly appreciate testing with affixes to help us identify any issues with affix interactions in specific dungeons.

During the test period you’ll be able to acquire and customize Mythic Keystones by talking to the Keystone Vendor in Stormwind or Orgrimmar, and the nearby Dungeon Teleports NPC will assist you with transportation.

We look forward to hearing your feedback!

Scale Up with the New Dracthyr Evoker

Quote from: Blizzard

With the release of phase 2 of the pre-expansion patch, players with Dragonflight can create and play the new dracthyr Evoker, a hero class that serves as both a race and a class in combination.

Meet the Dracthyr Evoker

Created by Neltharion the Earth-Warder, the essence of dragons was combined with the adaptability of the mortal races to create an elite soldier capable of switching from a draconic form to humanoid form. Long in a magical stasis, they are now awakening to a new threat within the Dragon Isles. It is in the Forbidden Reach that the dracthyr Evoker will start their journey to reclaim their fractured memories and face a new reality.

Dracthyr Evoker Quick Facts:

  • Class: Evoker
  • Two Forms: Dracthyr and Visage
  • Armor Type: Mail
  • Weapon Types: Intellect Daggers, Fist Weapons, Axes, Maces, Swords, Staves
  • Specializations: Devastation (DPS) and Preservation (Healing)
  • Alignment: Horde or Alliance (chosen at character creation)
  • Starting Level: 58

Creating Your Dracthyr Evoker

Dracthyr Evokers are a new hero class and begin their adventures at level 58. Creating your first dracthyr Evoker has no restrictions other than requiring the new Dragonflight expansion. For subsequent dracthyr Evokers, you are only able to have one per realm, and can only be created once there is a level 50 (non-dracthyr) character on the realm you wish to create it on.

You will also choose your faction on character creation along with all the various elements that make your dracthyr uniquely— you. There are a multitude of options and combinations you can choose from.

Express Your Inner Dracthyr

The new dracthyr race provides a variety of features to customize your character including bold horn options, a diverse palette of colors to choose from, and more. Choose from a variety of options including horns, scales, snouts, eyes, and more. You’ll also have several body options available to choose from.

A variety of different colors of Dracthyr without armor

Embrace your individuality with a range of expressive colors.

Wear your armor with pride as you blaze a new path through the Dragon Isles.

Choose Your Form

As a part of the creation process, you’ll also be able to customize your dragon form to match closely with your humanoid visage.

Set aside some time. You’ll be in character creation for a while as you ponder the plethora of options that await when creating both of your dracthyr Evoker forms. Don’t worry if you change your mind. You’ll be able to visit any Barber Shop to update your look.

The Color of Magic

Dracthyr Evokers were created to wield the magic of all five dragonflights providing a very distinctive style of spell casting. You will be able to see the coalescence of these powers each time you cast. Evokers also have two distinctive specializations which take advantage of these magic types: Devastation and Preservation.

Devastation is a ranged DPS specialization that uses the power of the red and blue dragonflights to do devastating damage to their foes.

Blue Spells: Focused and overwhelming power
Red Spells: Fast explosive power

Preservation is a healing specialization that uses the power of the green and bronze dragonflights to heal their allies in battle.

Green Spells: Nurture and heal
Bronze Magic: Bend and manipulate time

Each ability associated with a dragonflight will have the name listed both in the spellbook and in the tooltip.

Becoming Empowered

Dracthyr Evokers have special Empowered abilities that they can use to change the strength of the spell or ability they are casting. By holding down a button on your keyboard or mouse, you will power up a spell. The longer you charge the spell, the more damage it could do or the more targets the spell could hit.

For example, one Empowered spell first learned is called Fire Breath. Fire Breath can be powered up as a Level I – IV spell. An indicator bar will appear when casting to display the level of the spell that will be cast. Releasing the button or moving before completing a cast will stop the spell from going off provided it hasn’t reached one of those levels. Releasing the spell when the indicator is within the range of the level indicated will cast at that level.

At each level, the amount of damage done when using Fire Breath is increased. Not all Empowered abilities are alike, and over time, you will learn how to make the most of them.

Embracing your Draconic Nature

Dracthyr Evokers have two racial abilities that truly embrace the nature of this race: Wing Buffet and Tail Sweep.

Wing Buffet: With a powerful flap of your wings, knock away your enemies in front of you.
Tail Sweep: Lash out with your tail, knocking enemies within 6 yards into the air.

You will also learn to Glide which you can activate by using the jump key while falling to slow your descent.

Better than simply gliding slowly to the ground beneath you, you will also learn how to Soar for a time to move around the land. To get the most lift to your loft and go the distance, you’ll want to hone your timing and start from a higher elevation such as the edge of a cliff.

Soar: Muster your strength and launch into the air.

There are several other base abilities that will enhance your time spent as an elite dracthyr Evoker including the Living Flame spell which you can use to either damage enemies or heal yourself.

Living Flame (Red): Send a flickering flame toward your target, dealing Fire damage to an enemy or healing an ally.

In Essence

Select spells and abilities require a resource known as Essence. This is displayed under your character portrait as five small opalescent globes and will automatically refill over time. One such spell that uses Essence is Disintegrate, which is the first spell you will learn as you progress through the starting area for the dracthyr Evoker.

Disintegrate (Blue): Tear into the enemy with a blast of blue magic, inflicting Spellfrost damage, and slowing their movement speed.

Scale up to a whole new adventure, and we’ll see you in the Forbidden Reach!

Dragonflight: Awaken in the Forbidden Reach

Quote from: Blizzard
Forbidden Reach
The Forbidden Reach

Awaken as a dracthyr Evoker in the Forbidden Reach and dive into the mysteries of the past as enemies and potential allies, new and old, are drawn to this place of ancient power.

The Forbidden Reach, once the secret training grounds of the black dragonflight, has descended into a broken and deserted landscape, lost to the ravages of time. Those few dragons who remember the island know that it is taboo to visit, a place where something dreadful fell. Those who have braved the shores found little of consequence in this cauldron-like caldera apart from a shattered landscape and nature-claimed ruins half buried by magma.

The Forbidden Reach new zone music track by Glenn Stafford will guide you as ancient mysteries unfold.

No Longer Forgotten

Neltharion the Earth-Warder fashioned these lands as a secret training ground for the ultimate soldiers, the dracthyr. But in the aftermath of a terrible battle, the island lay dormant and abandoned for ages.

Time To Wake

Deep beneath the surface, vast underground chambers contain legions of dracthyr, resting in magical stasis for thousands of years. As an ancient, magical surge ripples through the Forbidden Reach, the dracthyr are waking from their long slumber.

In this place of ancient power, dracthyr Evokers will begin a journey that will lead them further into the mysteries of their past.

Dragonflight Zone Previews: The Waking Shores & Ohn’ahran Plains

Quote from: Blizzard
The Waking Shores
The Waking Shores

The Waking Shores are the beginning of your adventures as you take your first steps into the Dragon Isles. Help your allies push back against enemies, new and old, who are bent on controlling this ancient place of elemental power.

The dragonflights left their homeland and the Waking Shores remained dormant for ten thousand years. With Azeroth’s world-soul revitalized, the awesome primal might of the Shores stirs anew, rousing the dragons’ ancient allies and age-old enemies from their long millennia of slumber.

Let the new zone music track, “Lifepools Growth” by David Arkenstone carry you on your adventures through the Waking Shores.

This land is stirring with the reawakening of elemental energies. Long ago, the elements were present in their most primal, unfettered form; however, the resurgence of magic in the Dragon Isles has caused that energy to reawaken.

Geysers and hot springs are commonplace, and powerful streams and rivers carve grottoes into the colorful rocks and sediment. Waterways feed into the land’s heart and the Life Pools of the red dragonflight.

While millennia ago this area was populated with dragon architecture like the rest of the Broodlands, most of those structures have long since fallen into decay and become overgrown.

Volcanic areas are alive with molten earth and fire. As the elevation rises, the land becomes harsher. In these imposing mountains, Neltharus, the Obsidian Citadel was built by the black dragonflight so that the Earth-Warder could defend the Broodlands. Abandoned long ago, the imposing fortress has now been claimed by the djaradin.

Adventure Lies Ahead in the Dungeons of the Waking Shores

Whether you’re looking for loot, a new challenge, or to learn more about this ancient land, you’ll need to gather your courage— and your allies— for the trials ahead.

Ruby Life Pools

As the ancestral nesting grounds for the five flights, the Ruby Life Pools is a sacred place. The Red Dragonflight, whose charge it is to nurture all life, protect these pools and the future of all dragonkind held within them.

However, Raszageth and her Primalists have come to steal that future away and infuse their own powers into the sacred pools. They must be stopped for dragonkind to thrive.

  • Melidrussa Chillworn: Melidrussa Chillworn leads the Primalist infusion efforts in the Ruby Life Pools. Her fervent belief is that she is protecting young dragon eggs from the influence of the titans and cleansing them from the stain of Order magic. She will stop at nothing to fulfill her calling and return the eggs to what she believes is their natural state.
  • Kokia Blazehoof: As Primalist forces assault the Ruby Life Pools from all sides, it falls to Kokia and her Blazebound lieutenants to capture precious eggs from overwhelmed defenders, spreading flame and havoc as they go.
  • Kyrakka and Erkhart Stormvein: Kyrakka and Erkhart roam the skies above the Ruby Life Pools coordinating attacks on the shrine below while also taking out any interfering dragons. If left unchecked, they burn the Life Pools to the ground and blow the remaining ash away in a cleansing elemental storm.

Neltharus

Beneath the Obsidian Citadel lies Neltharus, home of the black dragonflight’s hoard and the secrets behind their legendary forging. When the djaradin woke from their slumber, they chose Neltharus as the point of entry for their attack. Surprised to find it deserted, they quickly laid claim to its secrets for themselves… as well as the rest of the Obsidian Citadel.

  • Chargath, Bane of Scales: This veteran dragon hunter’s title was given eons as a mark of legend. While the Qalashi hunters under his command train, he plans their next offensive and awaits with eager anticipation the opportunity to display his expertise.
  • Forgemaster Gorek: As one of the djaradin’s most distinguished craftsmen, the Forgemaster Gorek now resides in his sweltering chamber of the black dragon barracks. There, he harnesses the igneous power of the massive forge to construct deadly weaponry.
  • Magmatusk: The djaradin discovered many of Neltharion’s secrets while plundering Neltharus. An experimental potion gone awry created Magmatusk, a behemoth of a mammoth bent on sheer destruction.
  • Warlord Sargha: Leader of the Qalash djaradin, Warlord Sargha has been in search of anything that would increase the power of her clan and help take down their draconic enemies. In the hoard at the heart of Neltharus, she may have found exactly what the djaradin need.

Inhabitants of the Waking Shores

Elemental magic manifests everywhere, with earth, air, water, and fire taking physical form. New types of elemental beings are rising, as well as animalistic creatures infused with this magic. Here are some that you will happen upon in your travels:

See you in the Dragon Isles!

Quote from: Blizzard
Ohn'ahran Plains
Ohn’ahran Plains

On your continuing adventures through Dragonflight and the Dragon Isles, you’ll step foot into the Ohn’ahran Plains.

Named after the Wild God of the Wind, Ohn’ahra, it’s a viridescent grassland that rise gently upward from the Waking Shores, with mellow hills and steppes worn smooth by wind and river. This region boasts prominent and dramatic elevations that become more mountainous, and geysers are alive with erupting columns of boiling steam.

Travel the Ohn’ahran Plains with the new zone music track by Jeff Lefkowitz.

Once home to the green dragonflight, nature thrives in the Ohn’ahran Plains. Magnificent, lush greenery abounds, and calm waters flow through the Emerald Gardens, an area alive with natural wonder drawn from the magic of the Emerald Dream.

The endlessly open plains are abundant with life, and the landscape is dotted with singing stones.

Adventure Lies Ahead in the Dungeons of the Ohn’ahran Plains

The Nokhud Offensive

After Clan Nokhud captured the ancient eagle spirit, Ohn’ahra, civil war spread across the Ohn’ahran plains like wildfire. To the other clans, Ohn’ahra is more than a mere spirit: she is their goddess. Primalists summon elemental forces, and necromancers command the spirits of legendary centaur. Beset by enemies, the other Maruuk clans rally. The Nokhud tyrant, Balakar Khan, watches from afar, bellowing commands. Relentless enemy offenses will continue until his forces submit. The battlefield awaits.

  • Granyth: Granyth casts his shadow over the plains of Ohn’ahra appearing as an omen of death and destruction. As battles between centaur clans rage across the plains, he knows it is time to destroy his ancient enemies once and for all. Soon he will land on the battlefield. Clan Shikaar’s ballistae will be ready.
  • The Raging Tempest: Violent storm winds that ravage the plains of Ohn’ahra have coalesced into an avatar of the storm. The Raging Tempest continues to gather power to devastate not only the plains of Ohn’ahra, but eventually the entirety of the Dragon Isles. Unless champions can defeat the stormcasters and dispel their relentless elemental, Primalist chaos will reign on the plains.
  • Teera and Maruuk: Ukhel necromancers are resurrecting legendary centaur. The spirits of the first matriarch, Teera, and the centaur’s greatest warrior, Maruuk have risen from their graves. Once their furty has abated, perhaps they can find rest again…and eternal peace.
  • Balakar Khan: Balakar Khan is the ruthless and mighty leader of the Nokhud clan. His stormcasters have captured the great eagle spirit Ohn’ahra, and he wants to seize the Windmother’s power. Hatred unites his clan against all “outsiders.” As the relentless offensive continues, someone must stand up to this tyrant.

Vast plateaus and mesas are home to the growing clans of centaurs, each a unique culture unto itself and masters of different specialties. The centaur clans are deeply connected to the land, maintaining their traditions, and those seeking to assist can earn their trust.

This region is teeming with life. High grasses surround watering holes that draw in large wildlife that provide ample prey for the hungry proto-dragons soaring through the skies. Here are some of the creatures you’ll happen upon in your travels.

Craft with the Blues – November 11

Quote from: Blizzard

This Friday, November 11, come join members of the World of Warcraft development team on the Valdrakken realm in the Beta as we playtest Dragonflight’s new Crafting Order system. We will be creating and fulfilling Crafting Orders to both generate feedback on the new feature and to catch any last-minute bugs. For more information on the Crafting Order system, and our recent changes to the feature, check out the following thread: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/feedback-crafting-orders/1384676

We will be testing placing and fulfilling Crafting Orders for a total of 1 hour. The details are as follows:

  • Testing begins at 2:00 p.m. PST (4:00 p.m. CST, 5:00 p.m. EST)
  • Dragonflight Beta – Valdrakken realm

To playtest this with us, log into the Beta and create a character on the Valdrakken realm. Characters that are created on the Valdrakken realm are set to level 70 and are placed in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Once you’ve logged on, players will be able to playtest as either a customer or a crafter. In order to make sure you have as much time as possible, we recommend creating your characters in advance of the test.

Customer

If you’d like to focus on placing crafting orders as a customer and having others fulfill them for you, you can talk to Clerk Galesong in the Trade District/Valley of Strength to open the Place Crafting Order UI. Then follow these steps:

  • Browse for an item you wish to order.
  • Customize it as you see fit.
  • Write a (courteous) message.
  • Post the order.

By default, your order will be public, allowing any appropriately knowledgeable crafter on your realm to fulfill it. You can also choose to send a guild order or a personal order to someone specific with the correct profession. Customers placing public orders will need to provide all of the reagents for the craft. You can find any reagent you need at the profession vendors next to Clerk Galesong.

Crafter

If you’d like to fulfill crafting orders, crafters will need to learn the profession of their choosing and learn the appropriate recipes. To fast-track learning your Profession, you can talk to Associate Professor Instructaur in the Trade District/Valley of Strength to learn the base Profession and the Dragon Isles Profession skill. Then follow these steps:

  • Buy the “Professor Instructaur’s Brain” item to immediately set your Profession Skill to 100 (don’t forget to learn your recipes from Professor Instuctaur once you’ve hit 100 Skill!).
  • Open the Professions UI and navigate to the Crafting Orders tab to view and claim orders while near the profession vendor NPCs in the Trade District/Valley of Strength.
  • Provide any missing reagents.
  • Craft the item in question.
  • Compose a (courteous) message back to your customer.
  • Complete the order.
  • Collect your commission.

The World of Warcraft development team will be focusing on both placing and fulfilling Crafting Orders for various professions, so feel free to playtest as either a customer or a crafter.

We look forward to playtesting with you and reading your feedback afterward, see you there!
