In Warlords of Draenor there are many rares in each zone, a lot of them are to kill while leveling to diversify the leveling experience. It’s a combined and improved version of leveling and the timeless isle. To help you keep track of them all we’ve compiled a list of all the rares we’ve been able to find. Tom Chilton Interview 3 – Gamescom, UK Price increase, Hearthstone Android Development

Gamona also interviewed Tom Chilton, here’s the recap on new info we hadn’t learned from the other interviews:

  • Warlords took about 6 months more to make than blizzard had planned.
  • Another group is already actively working on the expansion after WoD.
  • There are no plans to take the garrison over to the next expansion. They might take the concept over in the future.
  • The ability to change the zone of your garrison might come in a content patch.
  • It is inevitable that some compositions will be favored in mythic raiding (less melee for example).
  • Every zone in Draenor has max level areas. They have more story behind them.
  • There will be a major quest line each week.
  • Patch 6.0 will be released about a month before the WoD release (Nov 13th).

The subscription prices in pounds will soon increase!

Quote from: Blizzard
We regularly look at our pricing around the world and from time to time we make changes in light of local and regional market conditions. As such, we want to give everyone a heads-up that we will shortly be adjusting the pound sterling subscription price of World of Warcraft.

The new price for recurring subscriptions will be £9.99 for 30 days, £28.17 for 90 days, and £52.14 for 180 days. The suggested retail price of the 60-day prepaid time card will be £20.99.

As a thank you for current World of Warcraft subscribers, we guarantee that players with recurring (auto-renewing) subscriptions at the time of the price change will retain their current price for two years, as long as they remain in the same recurring subscription without interruption. This applies to anyone who is already in, or signs up for, a recurring subscription prior to the price change, which is scheduled to take place at the Warlords of Draenor release. We will reach out to relevant players approximately two months prior to the price change with a reminder.

It looks like the android development for hearthstone is still intended to be released this year!

Quote from: Blizzard
We still have Hearthstone for iPhone and Android devices currently in development. We’re still shooting for this year for an Android device release.

Obtaining Phylarch the Evergreen Guide, Level 100 Rare Follower

Note: Since the beta ended this follower has a standard rare quality instead of epic!

When browsing the possible followers to get there’s a few that will catch your eye. One of them is Phylarch the Evergreen. He’s a level 100 follower and is of epic quality to boot! The rarity of a follower indicates how many abilities and traits they have. The epic ones give a lot compared to the regular uncommon ones. So naturally this is one you might want to get. Here’s a quick guide (the process itself is far from quick) in the steps for how to get him.

To start off you have to get a Tier 3 Lumber Mill. So here’s a list of things you have to do to get that:

  • Build the tier 1 lumber mill, this is a Medium building.
  • Once you are able to buy the blueprints for the tier 2 lumber mill do so. You can buy it with an Outpost Building Assembly Notes item or with gold.
  • This is where it gets really grindy. You will have to complete the achievement Upgrading the Mill. I’ll explain this one below.
  • Once you have the achievement you can buy the tier 3 lumber mill and upgrade it.
  • Now that you have the tier 3 lumber mill go out into the world (Spires of Arak / Nagrand) to chop down Large Timber.
  • Keep doing this until you have defeated Phylarch the Evergreen in battle 3 times. (He does not spawn at every Large Timber, it can take a while)
  • Accept his surrender and his offer to become your newest garrison follower!

Upgrading the Mill

To get the Tier 3 blueprints for your garrison buildings you will have to complete achievements, and this one is an ugly murlock’s uncle if there ever was one.

You have to turn in 75 work orders and complete 2 quests. Considering at level 2 you’ll be able to turn in 3 work orders per day it will take you a total of 25 days to complete. Each work order takes 50 timber and currently gives you 100 garrison resources with a chance of some Apexis Crystals. So for the first part of this achievement you’ll have to farm your timber diligently every day for 25 days.

Legacy of the Ancients

You will need a tier 2 lumber mill for this. There’s a chance you can come across an Ancient looking tree which is gray. When you try to cut him down he will attack you and you need to kill him. Once you do it will give you a quest to get the cores of 4 other trees in 4 zones. If you’re leveling up it might take a while as one of them is Nagrand, which is the final leveling zone. Once you have all 4 cores turn them in at the lumbe rmill and that’ll be the end of that.

Reduction in Force

For this quest you will need the Follower Weldon Barov. This is a follower you can only get if you have the lumber mill. In a couple of zones, one of which is Nagrand you’ll see a fallen tree on someone. Chop it up into pieces and voila you’ll have another follower!

Around level 96 (unconfirmed which level) he will give you the quest to get the head of a Barov member. You’ll need to chop down small timber until he spawns.

Closing Thoughts

The sheer amount of time and farming it takes to get this follower certainly will hold some off from getting this follower. The amount of abilities and traits that he has makes it very worth it. And if that isn’t enough for you, maybe the additional 5 achievement points for getting an epic follower are?

Tom Chilton Interview 2 (Raid Release Schedule) – Gamescom

Vanion got to interview Tom Chilton again! Here’s the summary:

  • Thursday was chosen as a release day instead of the usual Tuesday due to public holidays.
  • The current plan is that the raids will not open for about 2,5 weeks. This will prevent the feeling for players to rush to level 100. Players will be able to spend time exploring the other content. E.G. dungeons and the world content.
  • The Grommash fight will be very different from the Garrosh fight in Orgrimmar. There will definitely be more than just orcs. There will be a heavy legion influence in the raid that has Grommash Hellscream.
  • Challenge modes will drop LFR quality loot. (Which you will already be able to loot before the raids open up)
  • Depending on which building you choose for your garrison you’ll have daily content to do. For example if you choose the Inn, you’ll have a daily dungeon quest much like the ones in Wrath of the Lich King.
  • There are 4 tiers of level 100 garrison content. For example if you send your level 100 followers on missions they can get4 tiers of increased item levels. Eventually you’ll get access to raid quality loot you might not normally get access to.  These raid missions might appear just once every couple of weeks.
  • Players responded really well to having access to the lvl 90 boost straight away.
  • They’ve talked about doing a high level version of karazhan. There are challenges to that. Karazhan was designed for 10 player groups. This could be a problem for a 10 to 30 player group.

Tom Chilton Interview – Gamescom, More Schedule Info Soon To Come

Vanion interviewed Tom Chilton at Gamescom and had a lot of interesting things to say about Warlords. Check out our summary or the full video below:

  • Scenario’s will not be max level queued content at the start of WoD. They are mainly used during leveling to progress the story. They also put more of an emphasis on dungeons, raids and world content. They might end up doing scenario’s in patches. It depends on what the players want.
  • There were a lot of reasons for the WoD delay. One was that during MoP they increased the team size by about 80 people. They had to catch up but this will allow them to do more content in the long run. They also ended up changing a lot of the content. Garrisons required work from all the different teams, ending up to be a very big feature.
  • The release schedule for patches is still being worked on. It will likely be similair to MoP but it will change depending on the development of the next expansion after WoD. A raid tier should last atleast 4 months otherwise it will feel too rushed.
  • The amount of patches has not been decided. It will depend a lot on what the players want to see after they get through all the launch content and the scheduling for the next expansion.
  • They are talking about additional 5man dungeons. These could consist of dungeons in draenor or the timewalker dungeons (scaling down to old dungeons).
  • The adventure guide will not be in for the launch. They would still like to add it in a later content patch. At the start of an expansion it’s more obvious what you need to do than when you’re a couple of patches in and only just reaching max level.
  • There will be a legendary questline like in MoP. This time for a ring. You’ll start on it around lvl 99. It will be less grindy than the MoP one. They feel the ring would be better as well because there still is another ring slot you’ll want loot for. Unlike the cloak where you did not want any other cloak to drop. The ring will have a spell effect to show people you have it.
  • It is likely there will be more legendary items. Possibly weapons for doing the harder content.
  • Farahlon might be in a future patch as additional zone content. However they know they definitely want to do Tenaan Jungle as an additional zone content.
  • Grommash Hellscream will be the final boss for the final raid tier.
  • The new nagrand arena will probably become a new arena for regular arena pvp.
  • Warforged items will drop in regular dungeons.
  • Valor and item upgrades will not be in Warlords.
  • There is a chance they’ll add a tier 4 to the garrison as well as possible new buildings.
  • In 6.1 or 6.2 there will possibly be a transmogrification revamp. It would likely be a collection type system where you wouldn’t have to store them in your bank or void storage.
  • They are still far from having technology for spectator mode.
  • There are no class quests planned for WoD yet.
  • Regarding flying in WoD, it will depend on how players feel about it. They need to look at how it will go in the initial launch. If players overwhelmingly want it by 6.1 then they’ll probably do it.

Players of course wanted more information regarding the release schedule, the devs tweeted out we’ll get more info soon!

Prepare for Battle: The Pre-Expansion Iron Horde Incursion

We might get the 6.0 PTR soon(TM)! Blizzard posted a blog post about the 6.0 patch!

Quote from: Blizzard
Prepare for Battle: The Pre-Expansion Iron Horde Incursion

Get ready for first contact with the Iron Horde—oh, and you’ll probably want to prepare yourself for battle. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be testing a pre-expansion patch that will bring players to the brink of great peril, as the Iron Horde begins to aggressively gain a foothold on Azeroth.

As part of this patch, players will encounter fierce new opponents and get their first chance to experience a number of updates we’re making to the game. In addition to changes to the skills and abilities for every class, this patch will introduce brand new features such as 20-player Mythic-difficulty Siege of Orgrimmar, as well as systems adjustments including stat squish and diminishing returns on crowd control. The next chapter in the World of Warcraft saga is coming at you armed to the teeth.

Treacherous Developments

The Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands has turned blood red. Hundreds of strange-looking orcs are violently pouring into Azeroth, killing everything that stands in their path. Nethergarde and Okril’lon have already fallen, and while the Horde and the Alliance moved as quickly as they could to get reinforcements to their people, they are too late. The Iron Horde invasion has begun.

In this desperate hour, King Wrynn and Warchief Vol’jin have called upon their greatest champions to join the front lines in the Blasted Lands and do whatever they can to stop the Iron Horde . . . before the rest of Azeroth falls before them.

Word of this surprise attack sends players rushing to the Blasted Lands to reckon with the barbarous infiltration. After the fall of a high ranking Iron Horde general named Gar’mak Bladetwist, you’ll report what you’ve witnessed in the Blasted Lands to King Wrynn or Warchief Vol’jin. It’s apparent to both the Horde and the Alliance that this is only the first salvo in a much larger conflict, and the only way to win is to take the fight directly to the Iron Horde . . . by journeying through the Dark Portal into Draenor.

The Infiltration of Blackrock Spire

An advance party of Iron Horde forces has barged right out of the Blasted Lands and pushed all the way to Blackrock Mountain, where they found refuge and supplies in Upper Blackrock Spire. There can be only one response: the Alliance and the Horde of Azeroth must face this iron incursion head on.

Available to level-90 characters for a limited time, this specially revamped five-player version of Upper Blackrock Spire sets the stage for the coming counterstrike against the Iron Horde. Here, you will face Orebender Gor’ashan, Kyrak, and Commander Tharbek as you begin to take the fight to the enemy and sharpen the skills (and swords) you’ll need to succeed on an unwelcoming alien world.

Draenor is waiting.
