Hey guys I’m L-J from WoW Weekly and welcome to this Warlords of Draenor raiding guide. Today we’ll be taking a look at one the three world bosses, Drov the Ruiner.
Drov is what we like to call a Magnaron as he is a Gronn partly made out of magma. World of Warcraft in a nutshell!
Anyways, let’s get down to the tactics!
Drov isn’t that difficult but he still does a couple of things that you need to keep in mind. His main ability is called Giga Smash. This is an AoE smash which he does that inflicts around 50k damage to everyone near him.
He also does a Colossal Slam in which Drov slams the ground, inflicting around 35k damage and knocking everybody standing in front of him in the air. This will mean the tank will be sent flying so it is a good idea to have your off tank stand by and pick Drov up if needed. This slam also does an additional 25k damage to anybody else nearby so watch out and get away from Drov if and when you can!
He also does a “Call of Family-esqe” ability called Call of Earth which will summon multiple Rumbling Goren. This is a channel ability as when he completes the cast, the Goren submerge back into the ground. These Goren will pop out of the ground and inflict damage so avoid them as much as possible and spread out! After this channel ends these adds will come back at will so they will need to be picked up by the off tank as they do quite some damage. They have an acid breath which is a frontal cone attack which leaves a dot on all who got hit so be sure to face them away from the rest of the group. They also have a dodgable Crushing Charge which will knock everyone it hits back it and inflicts around 25k damage.
This is basically the whole fight which should make it pretty easy to overcome him and get some iLevel 650 loot!
