WoW Hotfixes – March 2, 2022

We got another big batch of hotfixes last night including balance changes to Anduin, Mythic+ fixes and health reductions to some rares in Zereth Mortis. Check them out below:

Quote from: Blizzard

MARCH 2, 2022

Characters

  • Fixed an issue that prevented character transfers to Roleplay realms.
  • Fixed a disconnect issue when inspecting another player in a Premade Group.

Classes

  • Warlock
    • Demonology
      • The duration extension effect from summoning your Demonic Tyrant has had its radius increased to 100 yards (was 40 yards).

Creatures and NPCs

  • Several Rare encounters in Zereth Mortis have had their maximum health reduced.
  • Fixed an issue where occasionally one or both sigils would not appear, making it impossible to lower the barrier to engage Protector of the First Ones.
    • Developers’ note: In the event one or both sigils still does not appear when the rare respawns, the barrier will be automatically dispelled after 35 seconds.
  • It is no longer possible to see Feroz and Elder Ara outside the Catalyst Wards and at the entrance to the Catalyst Gardens simultaneously. Quests can be turned in to Elder Ara and Feroz outside the Catalyst Wards while the character has not accepted all three of their quests.
  • Grasslands Raptora’s Bloody Peck now deals damage every 2 seconds (was 1 second).

Dungeons and Raids

  • Sepulcher of the First Ones
    • Skolex, the Insatiable Ravener
      • Fixed an issue where Skolex would sometimes not appear after defeating the four controllers.
    • Artificer Xy’mox
      • Fixed an issue where defeating Xy Reinforcements could fail to interrupt Decipher Relic.
      • Xy Spellslingers will no longer target the same player simultaneously.
    • Lihuvim, Principal Architect
      • Fixed an issue that caused Sundering and Kinetic Resonance to behave unpredictably.
    • Anduin Wrynn
      • Hopebreaker damage over time reduced by 10% on Heroic difficulty.
      • Befouled Barrier requires 25% less healing on Heroic and Mythic difficulty.
      • Befouled Barrier requires 50% less healing on Raid Finder and Normal difficulty.
      • Reduced the health of Grim Reflections by 20% on all difficulties except Mythic.
      • Reduced Beacon of Hope’s Purging Light damage by 20% on Heroic difficulty.
      • Fixed an issue where Rain of Despair was able to damage pets.
  • Mythic+
    • Halls of Atonement
      • Echelon
        • Fixed an issue where Echelon’s Encrypted affix relics would not follow him into the encounter area.
    • Plaguefall
      • Fixed an issue where additional Encrypted affix relics were spawning before Domina Venomblade.
    • Tazavesh: Streets of Wonder
      • So’azmi
        • Explosives no longer spawn during the encounter.
          • Developers’ note: The actual issue here is that Explosives can hit players through So’azmi’s Division walls, but changing that will take time to get right. Since it’s currently Explosive week, we wanted to do a quicker change to address the fight feeling unfair with current functionality.
    • The Necrotic Wake
      • Fixed an issue causing the Xy Relic Dealer to not spawn inside the Stitchwerks after the timer expires.
      • Amarth
        • Fixed an issue causing additional Encrypted affix relics upon Amarth respawning.
      • Surgeon Stitchflesh
        • Fixed an issue causing Stitchflesh’s Creation to hit Encrypted affix relics with Meat Hook.
  • Tazavesh: Streets of Wonder
    • Fixed an issue where the Customs door would not open on Heroic difficulty.

Items and Rewards

  • A finished Kettle of Stone Soup now lasts 15 minutes (was 3 minutes) and has 70 charges (was 35). Delicious!
  • The damage of Toxicialic Fluidic Spheroid has been capped at 6% of the player’s maximum health.
  • Fixed an issue with Toxicialic Fluidic Spheroid to cause error messages while the player is mounted.
  • Enchant Weapon – Crusader healing reduced by 86% and Strength reduced by 14%.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Cache of Sepulcher Treasures to generate its loot based on your loot specialization at the time you acquired the cache. This will now instead use your loot specialization at the time you open the cache.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue where the quests “A Jiro Guide to Not Being Eaten”, “Picking Up the Pieces… Literally”, and “Gut Check” were not available.
  • Fixed an issue for the quest “Jiro to Hero” where players could not talk to Hanoa the Exile, and therefore could not start the event.

WoW Hotfixes – March 1 2022, Anduin Raid Finale Cinematic (Spoilers)

Last night Blizzard released the biggest set of hotfixes for 9.2 yet, including class balance, raid balance and a whole lot of Zereth Mortis fixes! Blizzard also released a cinematic that takes place at the end of the Anduin encounter in the new raid, they of course contain spoilers so watch at your own discretion!

WoW Hotfixes – March 1 2022

Quote from: Blizzard

March 1, 2022

Classes

  • Druid
    • Balance
      • Fixed an issue where Celestial Pillar (2-piece Set Effect) would not be activated if triggered too quickly.
  • Monk
    • Mistweaver
      • Reverted a change in Eternity’s End to Fallen Order’s (Venthyr Ability) Crane Adept’s Enveloping Mist cooldown and cast variance that caused Enveloping Mist to only be cast once per summon.
        • Developers’ notes: In 9.1, it was identified that the Crane Adept guardians summoned by the ability Fallen Order would cast an additional Enveloping Mist if players reached a certain amount of Haste. Generally, we try to avoid these “Haste Breakpoints” that introduce big jumps in power with arbitrary amounts of a particular stat. In 9.1.5, we shared that we intended to fix this problem in the player’s favor, by ensuring that the Adept’s always cast Enveloping Mist twice per summon. However, upon further review, we opted to not make this change due to balance concerns. For 9.2, we made a change early in development that caused Fallen Order Adepts to be limited to casting a single Enveloping Mist. We are reverting that change via hotfix so that Fallen Order will have the same functionality as it does in 9.1.5. In the future, we will be looking at Fallen Order’s tuning and might make adjustments, but we do not want to make such a large change to this ability before Season 3 starts.
  • Shaman
    • Restoration
      • The bonus damage from the Raging Vesper Vortex (Kyrian Runecarving Power) has been reduced by 35%.
  • Warlock
    • Affliction
      • Fixed an issue where Malefic Rapture would consume a Soul Shard despite having Calamitous Crescendo (2-piece Set Effect).
  • Warrior
    • Protection
      • Damage of all abilities increased by 6%.

Creatures and NPCs

  • The Ancient Translocators for the Sepulcher of the First Ones and Antecedent Isle will now appear on the Zereth Mortis zone map.
  • Antros’ Dark Deterrence no longer persists after completing the encounter.
  • Mounts are now disabled on top of the quest characters in the center of Haven.
  • Fixed an issue where the vines to start the Gluttonous Overgrowth encounter would not respawn.
  • The Engulfer’s health now increases as more players engage it in combat.

Cypher of the First Ones

  • The “Sopranian Understanding” Cypher talent is now locked while being researched on an alternate character.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Sepulcher of the First Ones
    • Volatile Sentries will now correctly detect stealthed and invisible players.
    • Vigilant Guardian
      • Volatile Materium now activates more quickly after all currently activated Volatile Materium have been defeated.
      • Pre-Fabricated Sentries now activates more quickly in an attempt to keep two Pre-Fabricated Sentries active.
    • Artificer Xy’mox
      • The visual of the Genesis Rings now better matches the effect.
      • Reduced the damage of Hyperlight Sparknova by 30% on all difficulties except Mythic.
      • Artificer Xy’mox now uses abilities at a slightly less frantic pace while below 30% health.
    • Prototype Pantheon
      • Fixed an issue where players were unable to loot The Prototype of Absolution upon completion of the encounter.
    • Halondrus the Reclaimer
      • Reduced the amount of damage absorption provided by Reclaim by 20% on Normal and Heroic difficulties.
      • Reduced the amount of damage Reclaim gains periodically to 25% of its initial value on Normal and Heroic difficulties (was 50%).
      • Reduced the base speed of Ephemeral Motes by 20% on Heroic difficulty.
    • Anduin Wrynn
      • The healing absorbed by Anduin’s Befouled Barrier has been reduced by 25% on Normal difficulty and reduced by 30% on Heroic difficulty.
  • Plaguefall
    • Fixed an issue that caused Ickor Bileflesh’s Ghost Step to spawn Margrave Stradama early.
  • Mythic+
    • Mythic+ Rating colors have updated rating requirements due to the addition of the two Tazavesh dungeons. Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary now require 25% more overall rating than they did before.
    • Enemies that are part of a dungeon boss encounter are no longer affected by the Bolstering affix.
      • Developers’ note: Bringing additional enemies into a boss fight is a common tactic at higher key levels, and the current interaction of Bolstering with bosses largely prevents players from using that tactic. We’ve discussed this interaction and feel that it’s not necessary to our goals for the affix, so we’re making an adjustment with the hope of opening up more strategic choice during Bolstering weeks.
    • So’leah’s Gambit
      • Timecap’n Hooktail
        • Fixed an issue where Corsair Brute could trigger affixes.

Items and Rewards

  • The Dominance Key will no longer drop once you’ve opened the Domination Cache in the Endless Sands area of Zereth Mortis.
  • Many Uncommon (green) quality items in Zereth Mortis will now correctly drop as Bind on Equip instead of Bind on Pickup.
  • The upgrade cost of Aspirant and Gladiator equipment has been reduced.
  • Fixed an issue which could cause Bell of the Endless Feast to stack much more quickly than intended.
  • Fixed an issue which allowed the Cache of Sepulcher Treasures to drop the fist weapon, Domination’s Deliverance.
    • Developer’s note: This week’s Timewalking cache is only intended to contain loot from the first 8 Sepulcher of the First Ones encounters. In the future, after all of the raid has been seen by players, it will be updated to include loot from all Sepulcher bosses.
While it was unintended that this weapon be available to anyone this week, we do not believe that its presence at a Normal Raid power level distorts competitive fairness, so we will not be removing it from characters who received it.

Player versus Player

  • A new weekly quest, “A New Deal” is now available from Zo’sorg in Oribos. Complete activities in Zereth Mortis with War Mode on to earn a selection of new PvP trinkets. Once all trinkets have been collected, additional Honor will be rewarded.
  • Brawls
    • Fixed an issue that caused Warsong Scramble to show up in the calendar twice in the normal rotation.
    • “Something Different” weekly brawl quest is no longer completed when participating in Solo Shuffle.

Quests

  • The Irresistible Goop quest item now returns to the player when they return to the quest area for “Feed the Annelids.”
  • The damage done by Generated Shapesmith and Generated Oracle during the quest “Step Into the Ring” has been reduced.

WoW Classic Era and Season of Mastery

  • Fixed an issue causing the Outhouse in the “Locked Away” quest to no longer be interactable until a server reset.

Anduin Raid Finale Cinematic (Spoilers)

WoW Hotfixes – February 28, 2022

A new batch of hotfixes went out last night including two fixes relating to the Deepstar Polyp mount and the annoyance of pets blocking the UI when solving some of the Zereth Mortis puzzles!

Quote from: Blizzard

FEBRUARY 28, 2022

Cypher of the First Ones

  • Pets are no longer visible to other players during the Toccatian and Glissandian Protolock puzzles.
  • Cypher talent “Trebalim Understanding” will no longer incorrectly state that another character is researching it.

Creatures and NPCs

  • The Anima Reservoir in Haven will now have a permanent icon on the minimap.

Items and Rewards

  • Fixed an issue where players only had a chance to loot the Deepstar Polyp from Hirukon once a day, even if they completed the puzzle and returned to defeat Hirukon again that day.
  • The Coilclutch Vine for the Deepstar Polyp puzzle is now visible across all phases.
  • Zereth Mortis’s aurelid mounts will now properly move at a ground mount speed appropriate to your Riding skill when used in areas where flying is prohibited.
  • The Hearty Dragon Plume and Fiery Brimstone toys should now work in Zereth Mortis, the Maw and all other Shadowlands outdoor zones.
  • The Cypher-Etched Torque and Cypher-Etched Lavaliere now correctly binds on pickup.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue where some enemies for the quest “To Silence the Bonespeakers” could sometimes be higher level than intended.

WoW Hotfixes – Updated February 25, Patterns within Patterns Changes, Hunter Tier Set Fixes

Last night’s hotfixes bring changes to trinkets, fix some broken things and put in place changes to the Patterns within Patterns quest to make it become a weekly quest instead of a quest that resets every 3 days. Additionally there was also a hotfix that was not mentioned in the notes, causing Zereth Mortis rares you have killed to no longer appear as a rare! Check out all details below.

WoW Hotfixes – Updated February 25

Quote from: Blizzard

FEBRUARY 25, 2022

Classes

  • Druid
    • Fixed an issue where Ravenous Frenzy (Venthyr Ability) was not always correctly adding stacks.
  • Warrior
    • Arms
      • Fixed an issue with Warbreaker (Talent) not always properly applying the Colossus Smash effect to enemies.

Creatures and NPCs

  • Fixed an issue where Gluttonous Overgrowth’s Leaf Storm increased player’s movement speed instead of reducing it.

Items and Rewards

  • Instructor’s Divine Bell now always provides its Mastery over 15 seconds (was 9 seconds).
    • Developers’ note: This fixes an issue where existing versions of this trinket used a different duration than new versions.
  • With next week’s scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, several Shadowlands dungeon trinkets will be adjusted:
    • Soulletting Ruby critical strike rating granted reduced by 15%.
      • Developers note: Phial of Putrefaction, Soulletting Ruby, and Blood-Spattered Scale were part of a trifectra of dungeon trinkets that were overbudgeted enough that each new tier of item level scaling ensured they’d be among the best, if not the best trinket for classes that used them without question. Our intention here isn’t to kill their viability, but give more wiggle room for situational competitors and introduce some more variance into player’s gearing choices across Eternity’s End.
    • Bladedancer’s Armor Kit armor and damage increased by 25%.
      • Developers’ note: Bladedancer’s Armor Kit wasn’t providing the defensive value it promised tanks even in situations you’d expect it to be good, so we’re taking a crack at it alongside Pulsating Stoneheart to try and make it less of a negative experience when these 2 drop for you, and more into a place where you’d consider them depending on your situation and class.
    • Pulsating Stoneheart armor, health regeneration, and self-slow duration reduced to 6 seconds (was 12 seconds).
    • Pulsating Stoneheart armor increased by 35%, and health regeneration lowered slightly per-tick, but now ticks On-Use for a total of 7 (was 6) over the duration.
      • Developers’ note – Pulsating Stoneheart wasn’t appropriately tuned against the large downside of snaring oneself for a long period of time, so we’ve compressed the effect to mitigate the downside and make it a much stronger burst of defensive value in situations where you need it.
    • Fixed an issue where the Haste granted from First Class Healing Distributor was scaling incorrectly with item level.

Quests

  • With next week’s scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, the 3-day quest “Patterns Within Patterns” will become a Weekly Quest, and both its completion requirements and rewards will be increased to provide the same pace of progression.
    • Developers’ note: We feel that a full week duration, along with commensurate amounts of Cosmic Flux and other rewards, better suits this quest. We hope this change alleviates the concern some players had over completing it multiple times a week.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Cache of Creation world quests to not be completed after opening the cache.
  • In the “Battle for Highmountain” scenario, killing Fel Champion Gargath quickly should no longer prevent the scenario from progressing.

Patterns within Patterns Changes

Quote from: Blizzard

Thank you for all the feedback on the “Patterns Within Patterns” quest. We also agree that the 3-day timer doesn’t offer enough flexibility to complete its requirements multiple times a week.

With next week’s scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, the 3-day quest “Patterns Within Patterns” will become a Weekly Quest, and both its completion requirements and rewards will be increased to provide the same pace of progression.

Unannounced Hotfix – Previously killed Rares no longer Rare

When popping into Zereth Mortis before this morning’s reset I noticed that the rares I had killed in the last 24 hours no longer show up as rares. However when killing one it did still drop the same loot you got on your second kill, namely anima and a few cyphers.

Hunter Tier Set Fixes

After things have been dead quiet for the hunter tier set during the PTR cycle up until the last week of the PTR, Blizzard has reacted to more of the bug reports as well as some of the unhappiness surrounding the Beast Mastery tier bonuses.

Quote from: Blizzard

Hunters,

There was a discussion thread on the PTR forums regarding many issues with your set bonus and interactions with your class abilities. We wanted to continue that discussion here, and update where things are with regards to the upcoming tier sets and their bonuses:

Survival

  • Corrected an issue where a Mad Bombardier buff that refreshed an existing Mad Bombardier buff caused your next Wildfire Bomb to do less damage than intended
  • Corrected an issue where Wildfire Bomb with Guerilla Tactics talented would incorrectly restore multiple charges of Mad Bombardier if your Wildfire Bomb hit multiple targets.
  • Still investigating problems with Wildfire Bomb not working with Multiple Survival hunters at the same time. (This isn’t related to tier sets, but re-listing so you know it isn’t forgotten)

Marksmanship
There are a lot of intertwined interactions between Aimed Shot, Trick Shots, Double Tap, Lock and Load, and the upcoming tier set bonus which grants even more Trick Shots. We want this all to work together as you would expect it to, and have fixes in testing for what we believe is all of the issues that had been listed on the PTR forums.

  • Corrected an issue where if you have Unblinking Vigil, but not Trick Shots, and gain Trick shots from an Aimed Shot cast, you would not benefit from Trick Shots, and Trick Shots would be consumed.
  • Corrected an issue where if you have Unblinking Vigil, and gain Trick Shots from Aimed Shot, which grants another Unblinking Vigil buff, both Unblinking Vigil buffs would be consumed by a single Aimed Shot.
  • Corrected issues with Double Tap’s damage and the Set Bonus damage increase for Trick Shots.
  • NOTE: After several of the above changes, you can sometimes get into a lucky streak of Aimed Shot->Unblinking Vigil Proc->Aimed Shot->repeat… The threshold of Focus expenditure to gain a Trick Shots buff from the 4-piece bonus might be adjusted upwards a bit due to this, and we’re evaluating things and will be sure to post about any changes being made.

Beast Mastery
We have read your posts outlining some issues you have with your upcoming Set Bonuses with regards to AoE damage. We don’t have any specific details to share in this post of what is going to change, but are currently planning on adjusting your 4-piece Set Bonus before it becomes available in the upcoming weeks. When we have more finalized details, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Hotfixes: February 24, 2022, Lowering Great Vault Participation Requirements, M+ Affix Adjustments in Season 3

Plenty of news came out of Blizzard last night. In addition to a large number of hotfixes we also learned that multiple of the Great Vault requirements for unlocking vault slots are being nerfed and that the Mythic+ affix combinations are getting some adjustments in Season 3!

Hotfixes: February 24, 2022

      • Fixed an issue where Ravenous Frenzy (Venthyr Ability) granted an additional stack for simultaneous casts (i.e Stampeding Roar giving a stack for both the cast and form change).
      • Fixed an issue where Kindred Affinity (Kyrian Ability) granted your partner too much of a stat increase when Empowered.
  • Hunter
    • The bleed effect from Pouch of Razor Fragments (Runecarving Power) will no longer be applied to targets who are affected by crowd control effects that can break from taking damage.

    • Shadow
      • Fixed an issue where Shadowform would be cancelled when interacting with chests in Zereth Mortis.
  • Warlock
    • Fixed an issue where casting Grimoire of Sacrifice: Seduction (Talent) on another player would break immediately and would not clear damage over time effects.

Creatures and NPCs

  • Fixed an issue where the map markers for rares would continue to appear after already being looted for the day.

Cypher of the First Ones

  • Fixed an issue in Fugueal Protolock that allowed players to click on previously cleared nodes, causing the Protolock to become incompletable.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Fugueal Protolock given during the quest, “Your First Fugueal Protolock,” to reset prematurely.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Spires of Ascension
    • Fixed an issue where some player abilities were causing the final group of enemies before Devos to reset.

  • [With realm restarts] Participation thresholds have been updated for the Great Vault for Shadowlands Season 3:
    • The first Raid Vault now requires 2 Raid Boss victories (was 3).
    • The second Raid Vault now requires 5 Raid Boss victories (was 6).
    • The third Raid Vault now requires 8 Raid Boss victories (was 9).
      • Developer’s note: These thresholds for the raid will map better to the structure of the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid, especially for groups attempting to move from one difficulty up into the next.
    • The third Mythic+ Vault now requires 8 completed dungeons (was 10).
    • The third PvP Vault now requires 5500 Honor earned in Rated PvP (was 6250).
      • Developer’s note: We want to make these feel a little more attainable, even as aspirational goals for highly-engaged players who love that type of content.
  • Fixed an issue where players with unclaimed Great Vault rewards could become unable to acquire a Mythic Keystone until the following week. If you do not receive your Mythic Keystone as expected for any reason, you may speak to Ta’hsup in the Hall of Holding in Oribos to retrieve it.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a Forgotten Treasure Vault to be stuck in a pillar.

Player versus Player

  • Honorable kills in Zereth Mortis now count as progress towards the quest “Against Overwhelming Odds.”
  • Druid
    • Restoration
      • Inner Peace (Talent) now correctly prevents knockbacks caused by a Monk’s Ring of Peace.
  • Priest
    • Holy
      • When Spirit of the Redeemer (PvP Talent) is used in conjunction with Afterlife (Talent) to resurrect an ally, the Priest will now sacrifice their spirit and not return to life.
  • Shaman
    • Enhancement
      • Sundering (Talent) will no longer incorrectly both consume the effects of Gladiator’s Resolve and apply its incapacitate effect to players under the effects of Gladiator’s Resolve.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue where Xy agents could sometimes not become targetable during the quest, “Xy Are You Doing This?”
  • Vulpera slaves during the quest “Ready to Riot” now always give credit to their liberators for the quest when freed, and once again accept the help of Alliance players.

Torghast, Tower of the Damned

  • Adamant Vaults layers 13—16 now also awards Anima on completion.

Lowering Great Vault Participation Requirements

Quote from: Blizzard

To start you on your Shadowlands Season 3 journey, we’ll be lowering some of the Great Vault participation requirements with next week’s maintenance on March 1.

Raid Vault

The new thresholds for the raid requirements will map better to the structure of the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid, especially for groups attempting to move from one difficulty up into the next.

  • The first Raid Vault now requires 2 Raid Boss victories (was 3).
  • The second Raid Vault now requires 5 Raid Boss victories (was 6).
  • The third Raid Vault now requires 8 Raid Boss victories (was 9).

Mythic+ and PvP Vaults

We want to make these feel a little more attainable, even as aspirational goals for highly-engaged players who love that type of content.

  • The third Mythic+ Vault now requires 8 completed dungeons (was 10).
  • The third PvP Vault now requires 5500 Honor earned in Rated PvP (was 6250).

M+ Affix Adjustments in Season 3

Quote from: Blizzard

With each new season of Mythic+ dungeons, we take time during the development and testing of the content update to consider how M+ affixes have been working, design and implement new affixes, adjust dungeons where necessary, and add new dungeons.

M+ is played by a diverse range of players, so we try to make sure our feedback sources are just as diverse, to maximize our chances that we’ll spot pain points, knowing that different types of players have different experiences in M+. We look at data and statistics, forum posts, streams, and of course, we play a great number of keys ourselves at various levels and discuss our own experiences internally.

A major focus in these efforts is always how different weeks “feel” for players. An example of this was the adjustment to Ingra Maloch in Season 2. Player feedback was aligned with our own experiences that the penalty for missing a burst damage check felt overly punishing and made the dungeon less fun, and we didn’t want to wait too long to dial in the fun.

That said, a sense of mastery is a very important part of Mythic+, and changes that invalidate player strategies or otherwise involve relearning aspects of the game can have a negative effect on that. With that in mind, we prefer to make those types of changes at the start of a new season. For example, we felt that there was too much stress on tanks in Shadowlands Season 1, so going into Season 2 we sought to address that with our approach to the Tormented affix as well as changes to existing affixes.

For Season 3, our experiences again aligned with player feedback, and:

  • We’ve made adjustments to the affix rotation to break up Necrotic and Sanguine, as this combination could overburden tanks.
  • We’ve also made a change to the duration of the Necrotic affix to afford tanks more control over their ability to reset stacks.

As always, thanks to everyone who tested M+ dungeons on the Eternity’s End PTR with us, especially those who reported bugs and submitted thoughtful feedback. You made a positive impact on Season 3 and our future efforts in M+.

    • Fixed an issue where the Summon Sayaad quest, “Whatever You Sayaad,” would not be available if the Warlock’s Succubus was transformed via a glyph.
